Wine Experience at Emilio Moro in Ribera del Duero

We first met Mario Moro at our local wine shop, Tacoma Wine Merchants, where we discovered this family winery with rich historical roots.

Mario is the great-great grandson of Emilio, who began producing wine in the 1920s.

A couple of hours outside of Madrid, Ribera del Duero, where Emilio Moro is located, is known for its iconic Tempranillo wines. Emilio Moro grows Tempranillo grapes in three different soil types and produces more than 1.2 million bottles per year. Mexico is its top wine market, followed by the US.

Megan and Todd with Mario Emilio

After arriving in Madrid last night, we made the 2 hour drive north to Ribera Del Duero for a couple of days. We enjoyed four different types of wines with tapas on a beautiful sunny, Spring day. No better way to taste some wonderful wines right from the grounds where it’s produced!
